Verleihung Sport-Ehrenzeichen an Dr. Alexandra Meixner

Unsere Gemeindebürgerin, Frau Dr. Alexandra Meixner nahm im August 2016 gemeinsam mit Walter Wegschaider und ihrem privaten Betreuerteam am Double Deca Ultratriathlon in Buchs (Schweiz) teil. Bei diesem Bewerb galt es, an 20 aufeinander folgenden Wettkampftagen jeweils einen "Ironman" zu absolvieren. Also 20 Mal 3,8 km schwimmen, 20 Mal 180 km Rad fahren, 20 Mal 42,2 km laufen. Die aktuelle Weltrekordhalterin, Thea Storm Hendriksen, lief im Jahr 2013 11 Ultratriathlons in Folge. Alexandra "Xandi" Meixner erhöhte nun beim Wettkampf in Buchs diesen Rekord auf fast nicht mehr zu überbietende 20 Ultratriathlons in Folge und ist somit die neue Weltrekordhalterin in dieser Disziplin! Bei der Rückkehr in ihre Heimatgemeinde Sankt Martin gratulierten ihr vorerst einmal in kleinem Kreis die Mitglieder des Gemeinderates samt einigen Freunden. Die feierliche Verleihung des Sport-Ehrenzeichens der Marktgemeinde Sankt Martin fand am 25. September 2016 im Rahmen des Jugendheurigen am Bauhof Sankt Martin statt.
